'LIKE' Yin Yoga!

Want to feel younger? Surrender into Yin Yoga shapes and increase and improve your strength and flexibility of the joints in the hips, spine and pelvis.

And the winner is…..Yin Yoga! This is according to a recent survey of Core Power’s yogi’s. Find out why these class participants eagerly pour into Yin Yoga classes as they lay their mats down to claim their spot.

Do you want to improve and become more efficient at running, biking, walking, zumba, strength training, yoga(yang), a specific sport and everyday daily activities? Well, you should experience for yourself, what people are talking about!  Got your attention? So, you’re thinking, what exactly is Yin Yoga? It is the counterpart of a moving yoga(yang), such as Gentle, Power(flow) and BikramYoga. The moving form of yoga stimulates and stretches muscles in the body. In turn, this practice rewards strength, endurance and a wide-array of health benefits! Yin Yoga is known as the quite practice, stretching the connective tissues (i.e., ligaments, bones and joints) of the hips, pelvis and spine. This powerful form of yoga is not a gentle yoga practice; you’ll feel sensations holding these poses in stillness for three to five minutes (on the floor). The mind plays a key role here leading to a journey of self-discovery. Connective tissues requires longer holds as these tissues are more plastic than elastic (like our muscles). As we age, our body weakens, we have less synovial fluid which will affect the joints of the body, decrease our flexibility and range of motion.
