Gym or Health Club? Which One Do You Belong To?

Do you belong to a gym or a health club? Not sure, check out a few details to help you decide!

Do you belong to a gym or a health club?  Confused? Aren’t they the same?  You decide which one you belong to.

Does your gym or health club properly and warmly greet you upon arrival? 

Does your gym or health club provide you with continuing education?  Education is essential in order to keep members informed with ongoing seminars/workshops as well as offering demos of new exercises or ideas for incorporating new exercises into your workout routine, etc. 

Does your gym or health club keep current on new classes and evaluates new classes for their effectiveness, especially pre-canned programs that may not be all they should be?  Does your gym or health club employ a competent Fitness Manager who is able to effectively manage the club?

Does your gym or health club believe in updating and changing their group fitness schedule on a quarterly basis, so you don’t have to attend the same 8:00am class every Saturday? 

Does your gym or health club offer a variety of classes (not just the latest fitness fad classes) to help support members so they are successful in reaching their goals?

Does your gym or health club value your opinion?  Can you offer suggestions or feedback to the Fitness Manager on specific items/issues? 

Does your gym employ qualified competent fitness staff who are available at all times to assist you and provide support for those who are new to fitness or for those who request updated workouts?

Does your gym or health club employ instructors who are just warm bodies?  Are your Group Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers qualified, seasoned with experience and well paid?  Can your Group Fitness Instructor safely deliver a creative effective group fitness class geared toward multiple levels of member experience?

Fitness is a large part of a service industry.  Hopefully you are receiving and enjoying all the benefits that you are paying for in your membership to get the most out of your gym or health club.
