Five Things: This Weekend in Rocky Hill

From the annual fall carnival to a hands-on science demonstration at the library, there is much happening in Rocky Hill this weekend

 What's the weather?

The National Weather Service predicts that Saturday will have mostly cloudy skies with a high of 82. There will be a 30% chance of precipitation, with a slight chance of showers before 9 a.m. and more showers or thunderstorms possible after 9 a.m. Patchy fog will occur before 11 a.m.

The skies will be mostly cloudly Saturday night with a low near 65 and 70% chance of rain, including likely showers and thunderstorms before 3 a.m. and more showers afterward. Gusting winds may reach as high as 24 mph.

Sunday will feature partly sunny skies with a high of 76. A slight chance of showers exists, concentrated from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday night will see partly cloudy skies, with a low around 52.

Lions Club Carnival at Elm Ridge Park

The Rocky Hill Lions Club sponsors its annual carnival this weekend at . Bring your friends and family out for food, fun, and a festival atmosphere. The carnival kicked-off on Friday and continues Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Open Space and Conservation Commission to survey proposed Brook Street development site

The Open Space and Conservation Commission will conduct a special meeting at 191 Brook St. at the prospective site of the new 35-lot residential subdivision, proposed by R.J.D. Development, LLC. Members will inspect the area in preparation for their regular Sept. 12 meeting, in which the developers will make their presentation to the commission as part of the process of the application process for their permit from the Planning and Zoning Board. A public hearing will also be held at the meeting.

Library "Science Saturday"

Saturday the Cora J. Belden Library will host "Science Saturday" in its Program Room. Families with children ages 3 and older may come in and learn how to perform a simple science experiment which they may then take home. The program runs from 10:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Tony Reali at Sorrento on the Green Saturday

Sorrento on the Green is located at 600 Cold Spring Rd.
