Five Things: This Week in Rocky Hill

From blood pressure checks to book swaps, there is lots to do this week in Rocky Hill.

The National Weather Service predicts a slight chance of showers on Monday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m. through Tuesday. The sun will return by Wednesday with temperatures predicted to be in the high 70s to mid-80s.

The Rocky Hill Parks and Recreation Department will feature its weekly blood pressure check for seniors at the , 761 Old Main St., from 9:15 - 11:45 a.m. Monday. Services are free of charge.

Book Swap

is sponsoring a book swap. Simply bring in a book, and help yourself to one that has already been donated, AND receive a free flower just for participating! The event begins today and lasts through Saturday. T.K. & Brown's is located at 1761 Silas Deane Highway.

The is open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon and by appointment.

In addition to displaying important historical documents, exhibits and artifacts, the Society also sells Rocky Hill memorabilia such as holiday ornaments and postcards.

Rocky Hill Reemployment Support Group

Therapist Lorraine LaVigne will be the guest speaker at the Rocky Hill Reemployment Support Group on Thursday night. She will talk about how to relieve your stress, especially in regard to the job search.

The Rocky Hill Reemployment Support Group was created about three years ago as a way for residents to find jobs while connecting with the appropriate services. The group has helped over 150 people find jobs.

The meets every Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at . The group is free of charge. A new guest speaker attends the group each week.
