Open Play at Whippersnapper's Play Gym in Cheshire. Whippersnapper's Open play is available to members and non-members. Open play is not monitored by staff. You may use the gym and the equipment that is in the gym as you wish (within gym rules) and you must stay with your children.

Spring Open Public Skating at Veterans Memorial Ice Rink. Public Sessions (open to all ages and abilities) We have more public skating sessions than any rink in the area! Our rental skates don't hurt your feet... Riedell soft rentals; they make skating much more enjoyable!

Maple Sugaring at Warrup's Farm. We collect maple sap and boil it down into sweet syrup at our log cabin sugar house, and then make maple candies. Visitors are welcome to watch the process, take a taste of the sap and the almost-ready syrup and enjoy harbingers of spring on a farm.

Animal Demonstrations at The Children's Museum in West Hartford. Bring your kids to the Wildlife Sanctuary and the Main Exhibit Hall at the Children's Museum in West Hartford for live animal demonstrations!

Free Syrup Making Tours at Woodbury Sugar Shed - call ahead to make sure. Open for free maple syrup making tours during the month of March. We recommend calling ahead to make sure we are in operation for that particular day.

Art Start for Preschoolers at the New Britain Museum of American Art. Art Start For Preschoolers at the New Britain Museum of American Art helps caregivers and kids discover art together in the Museum galleries. Listen to a story and then explore line, shape, color, and other elements of art with Museum educators.

Family Movie at The Farmington Public Library - Main. Families are invited to enjoy our awesome new sound system (and hot popcorn!) at our Saturday family movie program. February 8, Planes March 22, Monsters University April 19, Despicable Me 2

Sugar Shack Open House at Sweet Wind Farm in East Hartland! Visit Sweet Wind Farm and watch us turn sap into golden maple syrup when we are boiling! Sugaring season is typically from mid February till the first week of April, but the weather can't always be predicted. Call ahead to see if we are boiling.

Animal Demonstrations at The Children's Museum in West Hartford. Bring your kids to the Wildlife Sanctuary and the Main Exhibit Hall at the Children's Museum in West Hartford for live animal demonstrations!

Lost Egypt: Ancient Secrets, Modern Science at the Connecticut Science Center!  You and your kids will journey thousands of years back in time to ancient Egypt! You'll see real mummies and ancient artifacts, dig for clues, build a pyramid, read ancient hieroglyphics and more - all at the CT Science Center!

Drumming About You at Roaring Brook Nature Center!  The Roaring Brook Nature Center is going to sparkle! BOB BLOOM is trucking a colorful cargo of drums for you to get your hands on! You'll take a drum ride with BB as he drives the highest octane songs that Canton, Connecticut has ever heard.

Mystic Irish Parade at Mystic Irish Parade Foundation, Inc. The Mystic Irish Parade is an annual event that has become a community wide cultural tradition. Surplus funds from the Mystic Irish Parade are donated to local charities that support the Southeastern Connecticut community. Fun for the whole family!
