OPEN HOUSE AT 64 WEST STREET , CROMWELL

In 1776, America was officially formed by the signing of the Declaration of Independence
and Elisha Sage built a post and beam on what is currently known as 64
West Street. This is one of Cromwells best preserved examples of
Colonial period architecture. The current owners have artistically
restored to function and aesthetic perfection. The renovation was from
top to bottom including rebuilding of the chimney giving you 3 operable
fireplaces, radiant heat throughout the house, 50 year roof, lead
abatement, window, kitchen, wide-plank pine floors, paneling and of
course electrical
and plumbing updating. They have included many modern date conveniences
like stainless appliances, central vacuum and a walk-in closet. All set
on a lovely .80 acre lot with rustic barn and patio for entertaining.
Like previous generations, you will be smitten by the beauty and the
grace of design. If you desire to recapture the joy of a gentler time call today for a private showing.

The Elisha Sage house, circa 1776. Elisha Sage was a mason and a
builder, who erected many of the early stone bridges in the Middletown
area. A measure of his skill may be gained by noting that he received
the contract for laying the outer walls of the Old State House in
Hartford. It is a fine example of Colonial period architecture with
historic ties to an important early craftsman, this house is a
significant part of Cromwells living history.
