Residents Receiving Power Back Rapidly

Emergency shelter will remain open until all residents have power.

Power has been restored to several areas in town including the ,  and .

The neighborhoods in the area of Joiners Road and Church Street have received power back, Town Manager Barbara Gilbert said.

There are 4,101 Connecticut Light and Power customers or 42% in town without power.

Even though power is returning rapidly to residents, the emergency shelter will remain open for residents to stay warm and feed, Gilbert stated.

"The will continue to run as emergency shelter until everyone has power back."
