Local Health Department Will Display Radon Information at Nearby Libraries

The will host informational Radon displays at local libraries during the month of January.

Displays will be held at the following locations:

  • on Jan. 18 from 12 to 2 p.m.
  • Lucy Robbins Welles Library in Newington on Jan. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.
  • Wethersfield Library on January 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Information, free radon test kits, and other items will be available at each of the events.

"Long-term exposure to high levels of radon can lead to lung cancer," said Health Educator Lori DiPietro. "The only way to know if a home has excessive radon is to test, which is inexpensive and easy to do."

The "is the local health department serving the towns of Berlin, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield," according to the release.
