Full Day Kindergarten Lottery Slated For April 22

The Rocky Hill full-day kindergarten lottery will be held April 22, 2013 at Griswold Middle School, 144 Bailey Rd. from 6 to 8 p.m. 

The West Hill lottery begins at 6 pm and will be followed by Stevens. 

The kindergarten lottery is open to the public. The PTO officers from both elementary schools have agreed to assist the administration with this process and provide oversight to ensure transparency and fairness.

Each school will have a separate lottery. There are 20 seats are available for each of our elementary schools. Those students not selected will be enrolled in the half-day kindergarten program.

• Parents do not need to be present to be included in lottery. 
  
• Each student registered for the lottery will receive a number. 
  
• All numbers will be drawn so that a waiting list is formed. 
  
• Parents will be informed by mail if their child’s number was selected in the lottery or if their child has been placed on a waiting list. 
  
• Those families that submit applications after the April 11 deadline will not be included in the lottery process; however, their children will be placed at the bottom of the waiting list in the order in which their applications were received.
