Special Council Meeting To Discuss Foundry

The Rocky Hill Town Council will hold a special meeting Thursday night to discuss and possible take action on site where iron castings were once made. 

The meeting on Thursday will begin with council entering into executive session and then, action is expected to be made by the councilors on ligation involving the Foundry. Public comment will be held after the council comes out of executive session. The meeting on Thursday will be the that the council has discussed the Foundry in executive session.

Cherry Hill Construction on the former Foundry site and removed two piles of debris that contain asbestos material.

On April 18, Cherry Hill Construction " according to emails obtained by Patch.

In 2009, the town filed a lawsuit to take the Foundry by eminent domain from its owner. In September, the council came to an for the demolition of the old Foundry buildings, settle legal actions and develop a mixed-use project on the 10-acre piece of property that would include retail and residential space.

Senior Living Facility Hosts Carnival Night

The will host its first ever carnival night next week and they are inviting everyone to enjoy the festivities. 

The event will feature the following items:

  • Performance by the band "Survivors"
  • Bounce house
  • Face painting
  • Petting zoo
  • Dunk tank
  • Cocktails
  • Outdoor movie featuring "Grease."

Concerts Rock Veterans Memorial Amphitheater Tonight

Symphonic Soul will be performing tonight at the  as part of the

All the concerts in the series, which are sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, will be held on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in back of throughout the summer.

There is ample parking at the venue and all the concerts are free of charge. Food will be available for purchase at 6:30 p.m.

Rocky Hill Patch Blogger Help Businesses Learn More About Facebook
