Paradise Biryani Pointe Opens in Rocky Hill 

A new Indian restuarant will be holding a grand opening ceremony Friday morning. 

Paradise Biryani Pointe specializes in traditional north and south Indian meals as well as Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, Moghlai Tandoori and Indo-Chinese cuisines

The ceremony, which is expected to be attended by the members and town officials, will be held at 11 a.m. at 397 Cromwell Ave.

Dance Studio Now Has Zumba

The is offering every Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Rocky Hill Band Rocks Niantic This Weekend

will be the opening act at the in Niantic on Saturday afternoon.

The rock/classic rock/and blues band will be performing at the Pro Tek Auto Stage on Main Street from 3 to 4:45 p.m..

The band was formed after Maryanne Lauria and her daughter, Kristen, were performing at an open mic for the band ensembles in June 2009.

, which drew 35,000 people in 2011, is free to the public and offers live entertainment, vendors, fireworks and activities from 3 to 9 p.m.

Local Church Donates Fruits and Vegetables to Needy Families

Foodshare Inc. along with volunteers from the will be distributing fresh fruits and vegetables to disadvantaged citizens this weekend at from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
