Summer Camp Assistance

announces the availability of funds to assist needy Rocky Hill families with the financial costs of summer camp or other educational or recreational summer activities.

Financial assistance is available for children ages five to 17 and whose family meets income and asset guidelines. A $200 maximum assistance limit exists per household.

Funds are limited and are on a first come, first serve basis. Income and asset verification is required.

Memorial Day Parade Registration

Anyone interested in marching in the annual Memorial Day parade is asked to sign up at the following link (CLICK HERE FOR PARADE REGISTRATION FORM).

The form is also attached as a PDF.

The parade, which is sponsored by and the town of Rocky Hill, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on May 28. The parade will start at the parking lot and end at the town green with memorial services.

Golf Lessons

The Park and Recreation Department is sponsoring golf lessons for adults and children this June.

Scott Learned of the Connecticut School of Golf will teach the basics of golf during the four-week course. Here is what people are expected to learn:

  • Practice drills
  • Full swing
  • Short game
  • Course strategy

The course will be held on Mondays (5 to 6:15 p.m. for children 9-12 and 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. for adults) from June 4 to 25 at Sunnycrest Park. The price of the course is $60 per person.

Six Degrees of Business Networking

The organization will hold its weekly meeting on Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the

The meeting allows members the chance to network, ask for referrals and get advice. There are about 20 members, who are mostly from the Connecticut River Valley, with each one having a different “professional specialty."

Each member of the group, which was started in 1995, is given 30 to 60 seconds to promote his or her business during each meeting. Then, one member gives a 10-15 minute presentation about their business.
