Blood Pressure Check

Rocky Hill seniors can get their at the starting at 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. 

The blood pressure checks are free of charge.

Street Closed

Church Street was permanently closed to through traffic on Friday, due to construction on the . Road detours have been posted.

The project will improve the area on the eastern side of the Silas Deane Highway and the Route 160 intersection by and 

Contractors will close Church Street up to the Center Street intersection and create a pedestrian walking area as well as additional parking spaces for the Rocky Hill Congregational Church.

With one of the legs of the six-street intersection being closed, it should improve traffic conditions and make travel safer for motorists and pedestrians, town officials have previously stated.

Volunteers Awarded

held their 10th at the on May 3 where forty volunteers were awarded certificates for service in 2011.

Six including Barbara Hammond, Robert Jeffery, Bernard Wysocki, Richard Marshall, Norman Bowne and Jeannine Anderson were presented with President's Volunteer Service Awards for 100 hours or more service to Rocky Hill residents.
