Core Balance Class Starts Friday

Rocky Hill Patch Blogger and ACE Personal Trainer Lynn MacDonald will be teaching the class.

Residents have the chance to put their core muscles to the test with a new class being offered by the Rocky Hill Parks and Recreation Department.

ACE Personal Trainer and will instruct participants on how to promote core awareness by strengthening the core muscles.

Participants will work on balancing barefoot while using the BOSU, Swiss and medicine balls and their own body weight. A variety of stretches are also incorporated into the workout.

The class will do the following:

  • Improve range of motion (so you are less prone to injury)
  • Improve posture
  • Improve balance
  • Improve agility
  • Improve core
  • Improve ankle function
  • Increase flexibility

The class meets Fridays from noon-12:45 p.m. at the Community Center dance room. The class will be offered in two sessions.

  • Sept. 30 – Dec. 2 (There are no classes on Nov. 11 and Nov. 25)
  • Dec. 9 – Jan. 27

The admission fee for eight classes is $28.

Please bring a Swiss ball and sticky mat to class. Participant must be able to get up and down from the floor to standing.
