Annual Fallfest Brings Fun for Whole Family

The event features U2 cover band, dog parade and fireworks.

The annual , which is run by the Parks and Recreation Department, will be this Saturday at the Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater at from 3-8 p.m.

"It's a good all around family event," Chris Rusack, event organizer, said. "It's our biggest event of the year."

Rocky Hill used to have a Party in Park in the summer with jugglers, balloon artists and magicians performing and a Halloween event in October. After Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater was built, the Party in Park and Halloween event were combined and was established.

The event begins with the dog parade, which will be run by , at 3 p.m. The U2 cover band UF2 will perform from 4-7 p.m.

Fallfest will feature the following activities:

  • Bonfire
  • Hay Rides
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Amusement Rides
  • Face Painting
  • Flashlight Egg Hunt
  • Pre-Carved Jack-O-Lantern Contest (bring only pre-carved pumpkins, no knifes are allowed at the event.)

"There is something for everyone," Rusack said.

The food vendors include:

  • Elks Lodge - hotdogs, hamburgers, etc.
  • Customized Cupcakes
  • St. Rita Bakery - pastries, coffee, etc. 

The fireworks, which are being sponsored by and Henkel Corporation, will occur at dusk or around 7:15 p.m.

"They ( patrons) obviously hangout for the fireworks," Rusack said. Between 3,000 to 5,000 people are expected to attend .

Patrons can park at , however if the parking lot fills up, shuttles from will be available starting at 2:30 p.m.
