Paul Pita honored with Catalyst Award by The Conference of Churches at annual gala

(Rocky Hill, Conn., October 29, 2013) – On Thursday, October 24, The Pita Group’s Managing Partner and Executive Creative Director Paul Pita was recognized as a Catalyst Award recipient at the Conference of Churches’ annual From Water to Wine Gala. This esteemed award was created to acknowledge the efforts of transformational leaders in the community who use their skills and knowledge to give back to the surrounding area.

The Pita Group has been highly involved in branding and promoting The Conference of Churches’ latest endeavor, The 224. Pita’s team developed a video showcasing the 30,000-square-foot building that will serve as the new headquarters of the non-profit organization. The 224 will provide a central meeting place for today’s business leaders to come together and create solutions to revitalize the city of Hartford. In addition, this location will provide educational programs to Hartford residents on topics such as healthy living, networking, performing arts and entrepreneurship.

“I am honored that The Conference of Churches has taken the time to acknowledge The Pita Group’s efforts to give back to our community,” said Pita. “It is our responsibility as a company to help the city that has given us so much. In working with programs such as Achieve Hartford, Hartford Public Library, Riverfront Recapture and MetroHartford Alliance, we intend to put Hartford back on the map as a major center of commerce. The city has so much to offer, and The Pita Group is lucky to have the privilege of working with organizations dedicated to its revival.”

President and CEO of The Conference of Churches Shelley Best presented the Catalyst Award to Paul Pita Thursday evening stating, “The Conference of Churches’ launch of The 224 would not have been possible without the passion, generosity and vision of this transformational leader.”

In addition to his work on The 224, Best recognized his innovative work in the communications industry and his belief in research, collaboration and measurable results.

Other community leaders recognized with Catalyst Awards at the gala were Rev. Dr. Marcus McKinney, vice president of community health equity and policy and pastoral counseling at Saint Francis Hospital, Kate Emery, CEO of The Walker Group and Sandford Cloud, CEO of The Cloud Company.
