ROCKY HILL, CT, November 7, 2013— For the first time in 35 years, Rocky Hill, CT is gaining a new apartment community when Continental Properties’ Alterra | Rocky Hill, a 144-unit  luxury apartment community, opens its doors this month to the discerning renter.

“Even though someone doesn’t want to own, they still want to feel like they are coming home to a special place,” said Fred Petak, Regional Manager for Continental Properties.  “But while there was clearly a market for the luxury apartment community in Rocky Hill, it just didn’t exist.”

 

Alterra | Rocky Hill was conceived and developed to fill this market void with amenities like its resort-inspired on-site pool and deck with Wi-Fi, outdoor lounge with fire pit, and a clubhouse with a Sports Club, billiards area, café with coffee bar and WiFi, as well as a catering kitchen.  The community also features a sculpture garden with a stainless steel sculpture commissioned for Alterra | Rocky Hill by award winning sculptor David Boyajian.

 

“The Rocky Hill renter has changed dramatically since the last apartment community was built back in the late 70s,” Petak continues. “With the new construction, we were able to provide quality and services that can’t be matched by the rest of the market at costs that won’t leave anyone feeling strapped.”

 

Alterra | Rocky Hill is comprised of one-bedroom homes starting at $1,365 and two bedroom  households starting at $1,555, with spacious, modern floor plans that feature nine-foot ceilings, large windows, plank flooring, gourmet kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, elegantly appointed bathrooms, and in-unit, full-sized washers and dryers.

 

The developer was very conscious of limiting its carbon footprint, using recycled building materials where possible, powering the clubhouse by solar panels, installing LED street lighting throughout the community and energy-efficient appliances in all units, and an EV Car Charging Station by The Juice Bar ™, available to all residents with electric cars.  Alterra | Rocky Hill also features a bike loaner program available to its residents.  The entire grounds as well as 15 residences are ADA accessible and an additional 33 residences are ADA adaptable.

According to the management team, 25 residents are moving into the first two of the five buildings this month and the priority reservation lists for the third and fourth buildings are filling quickly.  The community is designed so that current residents can enjoy their homes and the club house uninterrupted by construction on the final building, which will be completed for move in by spring.
