Citizens Bank grants $10,000 to the YMCA of Metropolitan Hartford

The Citizens Bank Foundation recently granted $10,000 to the YMCA of Metropolitan Hartford to support the organization’s Teen Incentive Program (Y-TIP), which offers a variety of personal development and educational programs to underserved youth, ages 13 to 18, from Hartford.

Serving more than 65,000 youth members a year, the YMCA is also the state’s largest provider of child care, and teaches more than 2,000 children to swim each year. Its popular Y-TIP program is designed to improve the academic success of low-income, minority children who frequent Hartford’s Wilson-Gray YMCA Youth & Family Center. Helping them develop the skills needed to make positive choices for themselves and their families, the program offers children an individualized development plan, as well as financial education opportunities.
