Barb's Pizza is Back

New Pizza Restaurant Opens on New Britain Avenue.

Barry Arpaia has brought his famous hand-tossed, Neapolitan style pizza to Rocky Hill.
Arpaia, who owns and operates Barb's Pizza, feels the key to a great pizza pie is flavorful cooking stones.
"Really good stones make a really good pizza restaurant," Arpaia said. He added that over time the stones suck in the flavor of what is being cooked on top of them.  "You cook on the inside of the oven, not the outside."
Barb's Pizza is known throughout the state and Arpaia has previously owned restaurants in Newington, South Windsor and West Hartford. He also sold pizza at the Dodge Music Theatre where lines where often out the door.
Arpaia wanted to bring an unique pizza-eating experience to 154 New Britain Avenue and that is reflected in his restaurant.
"This is the next generation of Barb's Pizza," Arpaia said. He listened to his customers and not only gave them great pizza, but a great place to eat pizza.  The restaurant has six flat screen televisions and there is more sitting than in previous Barb's restaurants.
The Restaurant also has a private party room that comfortably seats 30 people. The room  has its own television, fireplace and can be used as a conference where customers can show power point presentations.
The restaurant features salads, giant grinders, calzones and stuffed bread.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays Noon to 10 p.m.
