The almost 250 bed hotel is expected to reopen as a Sheraton Hotel sometime in August.

The has been sold and is expected to reopen in August as a Sheraton Hotel, according to town documents.

Employees with Rocky Hill Marriott were told of the news last month. There is no word if any of the employees will be kept or if they will have to reapply for their jobs.

The General Manager at the Rocky Hill Marriott Vera Sostre could not comment on the sale of the hotel. And multiple attempts by Patch to reach people at the corporate levels in both companies have not been returned.

According to town documents, the hotel was been sold for $3,750,000.

The Sheraton Hotel is expected to do some rehab work to the building, however it is unclear if the hotel will close at any point during the process and what exactly will be done.

Corporate Ride Hotels Limited Partnership purchased the land where the hotel rests on March 6, 1989 for $800,000, according to documents in the assessor's office. The building would be built shortly after the purchase.

The 247-room hotel features an indoor pool, a health club and a restaurant called Allie's American Grille.

Just FYI, but your headline should be tweaked. Marriott does not own the hotel, nor did Sheraton (Starwood) buy it. They are hotel operators who don't, for the most part, buy real estate. Sheraton did not buy the hotel; Sheraton is the brand that will be the flag for the hotel.

251 Room Hotel and Marriott managed the property. Hotel was owned by Host Hotel and Resorts. The property will be owned by an investment company out of Minn. and franchised a Sheraton.
