Rocky Hill Business Provides The Sound During ESPN Show

McLovins rock Sports Nation with some help from Local Stage Productions.

 

A sound company based out of Rocky Hill assisted a West Hartford jam rock band during its performance on a popular ESPN program and live sports award nomination show.

Owner Bryan Wosczyna started in 2001 and works out of his home and a warehouse off Old Forge Road. According to its website, the company "provides a wide variety of audio, lighting, video and staging services."

"We can do everything. If it makes sound or lights up," Wosczyna said in an interview with Patch Friday morning. "If you can think of something we can do it."

The crew at Local Stage Productions spent three days working on a taping of the popular television program "Sports Nation," which is hosted by Colin Cowherd and Charissa Thompson. The company did the sound and mic'd up a band known as the McLovins during its live appearance on ESPN2's Sports Nation ESPY Nomination Special.

The McLovins was formed when the three founders meet during various music camps in 2008. In 2010, they performed at the , Mountain Jam and recently have performed at Infinity Hall as well as various locations in Simsbury and Avon. The band, which is a quartet, plays a combination of funk, soul, jazz and jam rock. 

ESPN was so impressed by Local Stage Productions and the McLovins that they have invited them all back for three more shows during the last week of July and three other shows during the last week of August, Wosczyna said in an email Sunday afternoon.

Wosczyna said he was impressed by the "professional atomsphere" of ESPN and added it was a "really cool" and "fun" experience.

"This is a pretty good opportunity," he said.

Wosczyna said he saw the following celebrities during his visits to ESPN:

  • Chris Canty, New York Giants Defensive Lineman
  •  Tedy Bruschi, Former New England Patriots Linebacker
  • Rob Riggle, Host of ESPYS
  • Tito Ortiz, MMA Fighter 

The summer is not slowing down for Wosczyna and Local Stage Productions. The company is helping with the opening ceremonies for the , volunteering its services during the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut’s 26th and running the . He is also supplying sound, stage and video for Oakdale Theatre and Comcast Theatre. 

"I am all over the place," Wosczyna said.

Local Stage Productions will also setup screens in anyone's backyard, so people can show movies, play videos or do whatever they want on the big screen.
