St. Vincent’s Church will celebrate the feast of its patron saint, St. Vincent de Paul, with a parish dinner on Thursday, Sept. 27, in the church hall, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven. Parishioners and friends are invited to attend.

The dinner, which will be catered by Lucibello’s Catering, features a menu of pasta, chicken, meatballs, sausage and peppers, eggplant, salad and rolls, coffee and dessert. Tickets, which sell for $20 per person, will be sold after weekend Masses at the church. You can also get tickets by calling Joe Criscuolo, (203) 484-0479, or Carol Silva, at the church rectory, (203) 467-6394.

Saint Vincent de Paul was born France in 1581, the son of peasant farmers. Ordained in 1600, he dedicated himself to serving the poor and was canonized in 1737. Pope Leo XIII made him the patron of all charitable societies, including the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, founded in 1833. He died on Sept. 27, 1660.
