Economic Development Happy With Turnout At Business Forum On Financing

Next forum will focus on how to save on energy bills.

The Rocky Hill Economic Development Commission in conjunction with the Rocky Hill Chamber of Commerce will hosted a morning Business Forum last week centering on Financial Assistance for Businesses and more than 30 small business owners showed up to hear some options available to them.

"The speakers all kind of talked about the same things, which was financing but they all got to tell the owners about their own little special niche," Rocky Hill Economic Development Director Ray Carpentino said. "The overall impression we got from the business owners was that they were very, very surprised that they had this many options opent o them. They simply didn't know what was available to them.

"We decided to get together with the Rocky Hill Chamber of Commerce and offer a series of business forums for all of the business owners in town. We will follow this up in September with a forum on energy savings and how businesses can save on their energy bills.

"It was a good turnout but I always expect and want more," Carpentino added. "We learned from this one though. For the next one we will reach out to more people and network some more to get the word out. My thought though is if we can help even one business in any way it's a success."
