Connecticut Gas Prices Keep on Dropping

Prices for regular gasoline fell almost two cents this week, continuing a downward trend over the last three weeks, according to GasBuddy.com.

Gas prices in Connecticut dipped even lower this week to an average of $3.90 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of gas in the state has been falling around 2 cents a week for the past three weeks or so, according to GasBuddy.com. Prices fell 1.8 cents this week in Connecticut and 1.9 cents compared to last week across the nation, for a new national average of $3.65 per gallon.

"The national average has seemingly found some relative stability in the last week," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "And while the national average hasn't seen much movement, some areas of the country have seen volatility continue, mainly in the Great Lakes states where prices may again be poised to rise in the next couple of days as wholesale prices reverberate as refineries continue their maintenance schedules and the progressive switch over to summer gasoline continues," DeHaan said.

Compared to last year, Connecticut prices are 9.9 cents lower than this time one year ago and are 5.1 cents lower than one month ago.

Nationally, gas prices have dropped 4.1 cents since last month and are 15 cents lower now than a year ago, according to GasBuddy.com.
