November 14 Women of the Workforce meeting will focus on Facebook.

On Wednesday, November 14, the Rocky Hill Chamber of Commerce's Women of the Workforce (WOW) group is hosting Facebook for Business. The hands-on workshop takes place at the Chamber office, 2264 Silas Deane Highway, at 8:30 a.m.

The workshop will show you how to:

  • Effectively use your Facebook page
  • Customize your page
  • Develop a marketing schedule
  • Source quality content
  • Use Facebook ads

All you need to participate is your laptop and access to your email and Facebook accounts.

Workshop presenter Heather Turner runs her own business, Forfeng Designs, combining hospitality consulting with business marketing. Forfeng specializes in training, set-up and social media planning for businesses, and provides ongoing background support.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Turner has spent more than 20 years in the restaurant business. She trained under Chef Yves Labbe at the four-star restaurant Le Cheval D’or and has served as executive chef for a number of New England restaurants.

Turner writes a hospitality blog (www.chefforfeng.wordpress.com) and has been a speaker at associations and conferences around the country.

If you don’t have a Facebook account for your business and need help setting one up, call Turner at (860) 326-0721 before the workshop. She will walk you through the process.

For more information or to register, please call the Chamber at (860) 258-7633.
