Career Fair Coming July 28 for Hartford Area Custodial & Maintenance Jobs

The career fair, for anyone interested in a maintenance job at a school, is free and takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at New Britain Public Library.

A news release from the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC):

In July, CREC, an experienced, Hartford-based facilities manager, with facilities throughout the Greater Hartford area, will once again host a Facilities Career Fair for area residents.

This year’s fair will be held on July 28, 2014, at the New Britain Public Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair is open to the public, and individuals interested in a range of facilities careers are encouraged to participate.

“We are excited to offer this unique event to local citizens,” shared Douglas Henley, CREC’s Director of Facilities. “CREC is committed to connecting community members to great jobs and excellent job training in and around Hartford. We know that there are qualified people looking for quality jobs, and CREC is always looking for great people to work in our three dozen plus facilities.”

CREC manages more than 35 facilities through the greater Hartford area, including 19 interdistrict magnet schools, and employs hundreds of facilities, operations, and maintenance staff.

Employers at the event will be actively recruiting for custodial & maintenance positions in and around Hartford. Facilities positions are currently available for head custodians, day porters, evening custodians, and general maintenance.

The Facilities Career Fair will also offer opportunities to learn more about facilities careers. There will be custodial equipment demonstrations, cleaning product demonstrations, custodial workshops, and a number of exhibitors offering job opportunities and sharing information about continuing education programs in the areas of facilities and operations.

November’s career fair, hosted at the Colt Complex in Hartford, was a great success, with more than 75 individuals participating. CREC hopes the upcoming career fair will attract even more participants from the surrounding area.
