Music Tour of Italy Comes to the Library

Participants enjoy guitar playing on Italian Night.

A packed house was treated to Italian song stylings for the first event of the adult summer reading program. 

Enzo Boscarino, a part-time professor of Spanish and Italian at Central Connecticut State University, performed at Italian night at the on June 21. The 72-year-old writer and poet, who was born in Sortino, played the Ovation guitar and sang songs from every region of Italy in their distinct dialect to an audience of about 50 people. 

The event was part of the adult program, which is titled Novel Destinations, that started on June 13.

Boscarino, who is self-taught, has been playing for over 17 years and has no intention of stopping.

"I gonna go as long as I can," Boscarino said. "It is a passion for me. It makes me happy."

The library will highlight polish culture on on July 19 from 6:30-8 p.m. The participants will be treated to a travelogue, will  talk with costumed guides and observe Polish crafts.
