Heat Postpones Summer Concert, Movie

Kick will perform Tuesday night.

The Parks and Recreation Department has cancelled the summer concert and movie this week, due to the heat. 

The top 40 band Kick will perform Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Amphitheater. If a concert is cancelled, it will occur the following Tuesday. 

The urban and r&b performer and songwriter Latanya Farrell will also perform Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Amphitheater.

Despicable Me will be shown next Friday, July 29, at dusk. (Movie patrons should be at the park no later than 8:30-9 p.m.)

The remaining summer movies are Megamind, which will be shown Aug. 5, and Yogi Bear, which will be shown Aug. 12. Alpha and Omega and Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore will not be shown this summer

Admission is free to both events and concert goers are encouraged to park in Elm Ridge Park.
