Cirillo Summer Theatre Auditions

The town of Windsor's premier theatre company will be holding auditions for the Tony award winning Broadway musical, Pippin, on June 4 and 5 at the L. P. Wilson Community Center, 599 Matianuck Ave., Windsor.  Anyone who is between the ages of fourteen and twenty-four may try out for a role.

Pippin is a hip, tongue-in-cheek anachronistic fairy tale that captivated Broadway audiences and continues to appeal to the young at heart everywhere. Once upon a time, a young prince longed to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment. He sought it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, he found it in the simple pleasures of home and family.

The energetic, pop-influenced score was written by Stephen Schwartz, who also wrote Wicked, Children of Eden, and Godspell, among others.  The show was originally directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse and the Cirillo Summer Theatre rendition of the show will include the style of dance that Fosse made famous.
