VIDEO: Humane Society's Pet Of The Week

A 9-year-old domestic shorthair is available for adoption.

The staff of the Connecticut Humane Society in Newington is hoping that a family will take one look at Max and immediately bring the “handsome boy” home.

The orange, 9-year-old domestic shorthair is easy to fall in love with, according to humane society officials, and would be a great companion for children as well as other pets.

If you are interested in Max or any of the other animals at the Connecticut Humane Society, log onto its website to see a gallery of all the adoptable pets and to learn about the adoption rules and procedures.

The Connecticut Humane Society is located at 701 Russell Rd. in Newington and its phone number is (800) 452-0114. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you have plenty of pets at home but still want to help out these great animals, the organization is always accepting donations of food, toys and supplies.
