Rocky Hill Taking Part in CL&P Clean Energy Program

The town is joining several in Connecticut who are pledging to reduce energy consumption by 20 percent.

Roughly 60 towns across Connecticut are taking part in a new Connecticut Light & Power program aimed at cutting energy costs, and Rocky Hill is joining the effort.

The New Britain Herald reported that towns that join CL&P's Clean Energy Communities Program pledge to reduce energy consumption 20 percent by 2018.

Town officials are already preparing for this by setting benchmarks for energy in the municipal buildings and schools, the Herald reported.

For all energy saved, Rocky Hill gains points through this CL&P program, and after 100 points are collected then the town will receive a $10,000 grant, the Herald reported.
