Stamford Man Wins Match & Win Game

Abel Carreno says he'll use the money to put a down payment on a house.

Abel Carreno of Stamford was awarded $30,000 after winning ’s “Match & Win 2nd Edition” instant scratch game. 

Carreno told lottery officials on July 6 that he would like to use the money to put a down payment on a house.

“I could not believe I had won,” Carreno, a father of two, told lottery officials.

The self-employed contractor bought the ticket from the China Pavilion Variety store on Broad Street in Stamford.
