'Bark for Life' Event Happening in Rocky Hill

Come out and walk with your dog for a cure to cancer.

In the fight to create a world with less cancer, the American Cancer Society is holding a series of Bark For Life events across Connecticut — including one right here in Rocky Hill.

"Dog lovers all over the state gather to honor the care giving qualities of their canine friends in a walkathon," according to an ACS news release. "Since dogs are not permitted at Relay For Life events, Bark For Life gives those who view their dogs as support systems a chance to raise money for the fight against cancer."

Here are the details:
Bark for Life of Central CT
August 17, 2013
Rocky Hill Dog Park, Elm Ridge Park
376 Elm Street, Rocky Hill.

CTRegistration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.

The Bark for Life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society.
