Rocky Hill Animal Lovers Invited To Share the Holiday Spirit with Pets in Need

Local animal lovers can share their holiday spirit by donating food, toys and treats for homeless dogs and cats through Best Friends Pet Care’s 13th Annual Animal Angel Tree campaign.

The Best Friends Pet Care center in Rocky Hill is collecting donations for Big Fluffy Dog Rescue.

The Animal Angel Tree in its lobby is decorated with paper ornaments featuring photos and information about needy dogs and cats. All pets featured on the tree are available for adoption.

Next to the tree is a “wish list” of items needed by the shelters for the animals in its care. Pet lovers are invited to fill those wishes by donating the items, or making a cash contribution to the campaign. Only new, unused items will be accepted.

“Since the Angel Tree program began in 2000, we’ve collected hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of food, toys and pet care supplies for more than 100 different shelters and rescues across the U.S.,” said Robin Williams, director of marketing for Best Friends.  “More than 60 shelter and rescue organizations are participating in this year’s program and we know our Angel Tree program will make a difference for many pets in need.”
