Porter and Chester Institute – Rocky Hill Campus teams with American Red Cross for summer blood drive
Students from the Medical Assisting program at Porter and Chester Institute’s Rocky Hill campus will team with the American Red Cross to encourage classmates and community members to give the gift of life by donating blood. The blood drive is open to the public. Donors must be in general good health, be greater than 17 years old and weigh at least 100 pounds.
Medical Assisting students will visit classrooms on campus to explain the donation process and encourage their fellow students to donate. Someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds, according to the American Red Cross.
