The International Institute of Cosmetology (IIC) in Wethersfield was recognized as the Best International Academy at the OMC Hairworld show and competition in Milan, Italy last week. Billed as the Olympics of hair, this prestigious event takes place every two years in different countries. Carmelo Gugliotti, founder of IIC, travelled to Italy to accept the award. Student competitors from IIC also received numerous awards for their work submitted for the Hairstylist of the Year. Student Bianca Bruno took 1st place in Junior Ladies Long Hair Design. IIC will host workshops with several world champion European hair designers this week as part of the school’s graduation celebration. The academy has locations in Wethersfield and Plainville.
