(Rocky Hill, Conn., February 6, 2013)—The Pita Group has been honored with multiple awards in the international AVA Digital Awards 2013 competition, which recognizes outstanding achievement in the concept, direction, design and production of media that is part of the evolution of digital communication.
The Rocky Hill-based integrated marketing agency was awarded two Platinum Awards: one in the TV/Financial Institutions category for the commercial banking campaign it created for Union Savings Bank and one in the Web Element/Games, Contests category for the creation of Pita’s mobile-friendly holiday game, “Ornamental.” AVA’s Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding submissions in the competition.
In addition to the Platinum Awards, The Pita Group won a Gold Award in the Video for the Web/Informational category for “The Smart View” webisode series created for MassMutual’s Retirement Services Division, and in the Video for the Web/Orientation category for “Non-Stop Connecticut”, the travel video series it created for Connecticut’s Central Regional Tourism District (CenterofCT.com). The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm.

The AVA Digital Awards program is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand production, marketing, communication, advertising, public relations and freelance professionals. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
Other winners include Mercedes-Benz USA, Microsoft, NASA, Google, Domino’s Pizza LLC, Samsung Electronics, Intel, the U.S. Department of Labor, Toyota Motor Company and UnitedHealthcare.
