The Ravens-49ers match up isn’t the only big game this week: dogs of all breeds and sizes donned team colors and hit the gridiron for the annual Best Friends Doggy Bowl in Rocky Hill Wednesday.
The day started with doggy drills, cone races, touchdown dancing and a pigskin toss. During the game, the sidelines were filled with cheerleaders and a Ruff-e-ree.
Afterwards, there was a TAIL(gate)-wagging party featuring pig ears and doggy ice cream and awards were presented for Fastest Running Back, Best Retriever, Best Tackle, Best Kick and MVP (Most Valuable Pup).
"Best Friends Doggy Day Camp is all about healthy, energy-burning fun," said manager Corinne Tarullo. "Since dogs love to run and jump, we knew a Doggy Bowl would be lots of fun.
"The best part is that dogs don't care who wins and who loses -- they just love playing the games!"
