Rocky Hill, Conn., October 23, 2012 — Safety, fit and comfort are essential for children who depend on their wheelchairs to ensure mobility and to improve their quality of life.
That’s why dedicated rehabilitation specialists from Connecticut’s Children’s Medical Center joined with assistive technology professionals (ATPs) and customer service representatives from ATG Rehab to host the organizations’ second annual wheelchair wash and service check on September 29 at ATG Rehab’s national headquarters and Northeast service center in Rocky Hill, Conn.
The wheelchair wash and service events provide complimentary cleaning, maintenance and safety checks for wheelchair-bound children and young people served by Connecticut Children’s and other rehabilitation facilities in the Greater Hartford region.
Accompanied by their families and caregivers, children and young adults munched donuts and enjoyed drawing, coloring, crafts and face painting activities. Meanwhile, their wheelchairs were thoroughly cleaned, inspected and adjusted by ATG Rehab and Connecticut Children’s experts.
“We are delighted to be working with Connecticut Children’s rehab specialists to offer these wheelchair service events, which provide essential maintenance and safety checks for young people in our area who rely on mobility devices,” said ATG Rehab Assistive Technology Professional Toby Bergantino, ATP, CRTS®.
