The credit union purchased space on Cromwell Avenue for its corporate headquarters.

A local credit union is moving its corporate headquarters to another location in Rocky Hill and hopes to add more retail locations in the next few years.

On Feb. 29, purchased the land and building at 520 Cromwell Ave. from My III Sons, LLC. for $1,175,000, which will become the company's new corporate headquarters.

"We are excited to be expanding our reach and services in Connecticut,” said Nutmeg President and CEO John Holt in a release Thursday. “The new space will be used for our executive offices as we continue to grow our employee base.”

One of the credit union's seven retail branches will remain at 521 Cromwell Ave., which is directly across the street from the recently purchased property.

Nutmeg Federal Credit Union, which prides its self on good customer service and low interest rates, is hoping to add more retail branches in the next three to five years, according to Holt. The credit union hopes to offer electronic services such as mobile banking and e-deposits in the near future.

“Our plan is to continue to grow,” he said.
